A welcome from your student
And my website! My name is Kannica Christina Eggink but my friends and people who have a hard time pronouncing my name call me KC. I just finished my International Business studies in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I will be starting my Psychology course at the SRJC in the 2020 fall semester.
Kanniquote.
"My ears were gifted to me to listen,
my eyes were given to me to see,
my hands were gifted to let me fill this world with creativity"
About 3 years ago, I bought my first "professional" camera, a Canon 1100ED and was immediately sold. this gadget allowed me to share my perspective of this world with whoever was interested to see.
2 years ago, I joined the National Geographic photo community to share my work with other fanatics. One of my first uploads was the one with the tiger and it immediately made the top 3 of the week, it then went through a selection for the magazine but did not make it, however, I am still extremely proud of my achievement!

A Valuable Skill
PHOTOGRAPHING
I have been photographing for over three years as a hobby, with sometimes paid assignments but stopped doing those due to a lack of time. Throughout these years I have been developing my photographing and filming skills, and how to edit and upload.Â

HORSING AROUND
My Ambitions
Horse riding..,

At the end of 2017, I got the golden opportunity to start training at the Arabic race stable of Karin van den Bos, a well-respected woman in the Arabic racing world and also the best trainer of the world in 2014 & 2015. Throughout my years of training for van den Bos, I got to travel to amazing places and got to learn from the best mentors out there. I am truly blessed to be surrounded by the smart, talented and humble people who work and train there. I can't wait to see what the future holds and how my development will unfold!

MY WORK EXPERIENCE
Student-board president
2019
"Last week I was eating sugar myself." one of my favorite quotes by Ghandi about hypocrisy. As a student I was always the one who made sure that the all the teachers were up to date with the quality gaps I witnessed within the school but I never took it higher up to make a change myself. That's when I decided to join the student board in my 3rd semester where my potential was acknowledged and where I was voted to replace the former president, making me the first female president in our student board history!

Ambassador
Besides the student-board, I also contribute in representing the school and helping them promote themselves by pitching in my ideas. last year I was proclaimed with being ambassador of the year.

sales employee
I very recently started working for a sales company in Haarlem where it is my duty to find and hire new talent to strengthen our team.

internship LOGIX Malta
For the second year of my International Business studies, I needed to do a six months lasting internship. From the moment I walked through the doors of my college I was determined to do mine abroad. After being offered multiple spots in Sweden and Malta I choose to go with Logix, a marketing agency which is located in Malta. Here I performed tasks varying from b2b sales and making marketing campaigns, to making strategic plans for high-end luxury brands and real estate. Moving abroad has been an amazing experience and I have seen myself grow in a professional as well as personal way.
However, I realized that marketing on its own was not exactly my call and decided to continue my course in international business.
WAITRESS & TEARISTA
July 15th of august 2016- now
I've been working as a waitress in a Thai restaurant in Amsterdam since the summer of 2016, which I love to do. It has improved my social skills, language skills, selling skills and I learned how to work under pressure. besides working in the Thai restaurant I started working at a bubble tea bar. The most fun thing about working in Amsterdam is the huge variety in people, which forces you to adapt to the situation or person you're dealing with.

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE
What I Have Learned
Being a lifelong learner is a trait that is really important to me, and I know that a good education does not only take place in schools. Some lessons were learned in the traditional way, while I have received others from professional mentors, industry professionals and in some cases, friends and family. My level in school does not define who I am, or what I am capable of. This is just the first step of the ladder I am going to climb.

ENDORSEMENT

"I have the profound pleasure of having Kannica as one of my students, her drive, motivation and eager to learn is very inspiring to both her peers and teachers. Kannica has the potential to achieve great things, this not only because of her intellect but also her ability to plan, lead and to provoke others to see and underline the importance of their development. Kannica takes her development very serious because when she works on her assignments she does not merely hand in work to achieve the assignment, but she writes a coherent story which makes it clear that during the process she does a lot of research which enables her to produce quality work. Her main focus is not on success but on value, meaning that she does not just work out her assignments to achieve them but she wants to learn something during the process. I wish her all the best in her journey of becoming a woman of value."
